Hackley Game 10/21

Even though Fieldston lost their game to Hackley 1-0 on Monday, it was a close and hard-fought game that once again showed the team’s outstanding skills. Some standout players during the game were Junior Holly Wemple (center forward), who can easily get past defenders with her talented stick skills when shooting on goal; Junior Camille Newman (center midfielder), with her incredible stick skills, when dribbling up and down the field and outstanding hard hits on goal; Junior Lauren Plous (center back), with her amazing defending and dribbling skills that can drive her around any amount of defenders; and Sophomore Abby Trapp (left midfielder), with her insane speed and smooth stick skills, she is able to get past defenders easily. The team hoped to beat JFK on Wednesday so they could make it to the playoffs.

JFK Game 10/23

Last Wednesday’s home game against JFK was a fantastic game and an easy 9-2 win for Fieldston. Each and every player displayed their skills and knowledge of the sport on the field with intent in every move they made. Among the goal scorers were Freshmen Izzy Casdin (midfielder) and Charlotte Cohen (forward), both of whom earned a lot of playing time in Wednesday’s game. Izzy Casdin showcased her skilled passing and fast feet while Charlotte Cohen displayed her speed and ability to move the ball up and down the field with ease. Other goal scorers, but not all, included Sophomore Abby Trapp (midfielder), Junior Lauren Plous (defender), and Senior Lindsay Ravetz (forward). However, the spotlight was on Senior Daphne Zuckerman (midfielder) as she made her official return and made evident the hard-work she had done over the past few months to recover from a torn acl. Daphne was overly excited to be able to play quite a bit in Wednesday’s game, and she resumed where she had left off last year with her amazing stick skills and physical capabilities.

Bearley Game 10/30

Varsity Field Hockey won their first playoff game against Bearley with an amazing score of 4-0. The scorers of the game today were Senior Sarah Weber (right back), with her incredible hard hits across the field and defending skills, she is able to take the ball from any player that approaches her. Sophomore Emma Siskind (left forward), who is able to run up and down the field and is always on post. Junior Camille Newman (center midfielder), with her exceptional stick skills, when dribbling up and down the field and outstanding hard hits on goal. Junior Lauren Plous (center back), with her astounding defending and dribbling skills that can push around any amount of defenders. The team hopes to win their next game against Rye Country Day and continue to move forward in the playoffs.
