Varsity Field Hockey

- Isabel Landau

The Girls Varsity Field Hockey team suffered a hard loss to Rye Country Day with a final score of 0-6. The team still played with their all and were able to show their skills and dedication on the field in every move made. Congratulations to the Seniors this year: Sarah Weber (right back), Maddy Brooks (right forward), Eloise Harcourt (goalie), Daphne Zuckerman (right midfielder), Julia Brous (left forward) and Lindsay Ravetz (left forward). Sarah Webber’s incredible hard hits across the field and defending skills allow her to take the ball from any player that approaches her. Brooks’ amazing dribbling and passing skills allow her to get great shots on goal. Harcourt, who sadly dislocated her knee at the beginning of the season, was still an outstanding contributor to the team and helped to work with the younger goalies. Daphne Zuckerman has been working hard the whole season to recover from a torn ACL and was able to get in for the last 10 minutes of the game and give it her all with her astounding stick skills and physical capabilities. The two left forwards, Brous and Ravitz, demonstrated great skill, and tremendous leadership. Every player this season has contributed immensely to the overall theme of hard-work, strength, and teamwork. The team hopes that next year they can beat Hackley and Rye to win the championship. Congratulations on a great season girls!
