JV Girls Tennis Write-Up

- Mikayla Vitiello

The final JV girls tennis game was a long cold but thrilling one. The game started against Hackley when the weather was still warm. Everyone was ready and eager to play the last game of the season. When all of the Fieldston players arrived it was around 3:20 pm. What the girls didn’t know was that the Hackley girls wouldn’t show up for another hour. Half an hour into waiting for Hackley, Sofia Brozost and Miki Turtle (the co-captains of the girls) decided to run to Subway and Dunkin donuts. When the Hackley girls finally showed up, Sofia and Miki were nowhere to be found. Right as the lineups were about to be called, the pair ran in, ready to call the lineups. Luckily they brought donuts for the team, so no one was mad about them wasting the girls time. First up was our singles player, Aditi Patwardhan. She won with a stunning score of 8-4. Next up was our first doubles, Aidan Goldsmith and Amani Creamerr. They had a game that had everyone watching. Both teams tied with a score of 7-7, after playing a tie-breaker, Aidan and Amani won, leaving with a score of 8-7. Second doubles was Miki Turtel and Claire Markstein. They got an easy dub, with a score of 8-2. Were they even trying? That’s a secret they’ll never tell. Filippa Lynes Fernandez and Sofia Brozost were about to win when, suddenly, the sun set. Nobody could see anything but they pulled through and won the game after a tie-breaker and a final score of 8-7. In other news, Izzy (tall-girl) Cavallaro won her first game last Wednesday (given, it was an exhibition match). She played with Emma Nikov, a star player on the team who, for some reason, played exhibition. Izzy carried us through the season, losing every match she played except for her exhibition match.

You know you love us, XOXO,
