Indoor Track

- Raz Mehta

1st Meet:

The team came out strong on this rainy Wednesday. Jackson Davis (Junior) not only won the 1,000-meter race but set a school record by a whopping three seconds (2:44). On the longer end of the spectrum, Theo Dassin (Senior) won the 3,200-meter race (~2 miles) with a time of 9:48. Additionally, Sam Meisner (Senior) placed third in the 1600 with a time of 4:49. The boys took second in the 4x200 meter relay and third in the 4x400 meter. Great start to what’s looking like a great season.

2nd Meet:

Although the team set the bar high with the first meet, they managed to top it with this one. In his first time running the mile in a race, Jackson Davis dropped a 4:34, placing him second in the race and only three seconds off the school record. Additionally, sophomore Ajay Bose dropped nine seconds off his mile time from the week before, an incredible PR. Sammy Schindel (Senior) also won the 1,000-meter race with a time of 2:50. Sam Meisner dropped six seconds off his mile time from the first meet, putting him at a PR of 4:43. Coincidentally, Theo Dassin also dropped six seconds off his time from the previous meet with his 9:42 over 3200 meters. On the shorter end of the distance spectrum, Vale Mccaffrey (Junior) placed 7th out 75 in the 300-meter dash. Additionally, Nate Ibel Weiner (Sophomore) was 8th out of 87 in the 55-meter dash. Ethan Kelly (Senior), in his second long jump ever, placed 7th with a jump of 16 feet 11 inches. Finally, the boys 4x200 meter team placed 3rd with a time of 1:51.

If these two meets are reflective of what the rest of the season will look like, this team is definitely going to be a dangerous one.
