Football Write-Up

- Josh Sacca

The Eagles finished their 2019 campaign with a hard-fought loss at Montclair Kimberley Academy (MKA) on Saturday. After giving up a touchdown on the opening drive of the game, Fieldston answered with a touchdown of their own, an 11-yard screen pass to running back Josh Thomas (junior). Following a defensive stop on fourth down, the Eagles took the lead on the subsequent possession with a five-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Jake Horowitz (junior) to receiver Luke Hanson (sophomore). However, despite another fourth-down stop, Fieldston gave up 21 points to trial at halftime 27-12. The Eagles shutout MKA in the second half, and behind two two-yard touchdown rushes by Jake Horowitz, pulled to within three. However, Fieldston was unable to finish off the comeback, losing 27-24. Other notable plays include a fumble recovery by Thomas Moss (junior).
