12/4 Collegiate (Home)

Boys Varsity Basketball played their first real game on Wednesday, October 4 after having three scrimmages. The game was against Collegiate, a team that had been difficult competition in the past. Fieldston started the game off strong, however, they were losing at the end of both the first and second quarters. With less than one minute left in the last quarter of the game, Fieldston was tied with Collegiate at 65-65. Timmy Selkridge got the ball and with two people on him, passed it to Justin Ben-Ari who was just outside the three-point line. Justin made the three and brought the score to 68-65 Fieldston. After that shot, the team played excellent defense and prevented Collegiate from scoring anymore. The game ended in a 68-65 win for Fieldston, a strong start to the season.

12/6 Masters (Home)

Boys varsity basketball brought home their second win of the season with a score of 68-50 in their second game against Masters in the Tip-Off classic. The starters included Kameron Rodriguez (Sophomore), Timmy Selkridge (Senior), Matt Millman (Junior), Justin Ben-Ari (Senior), and Ethan Ben-Ari (Sophomore). For the majority of the game, the score was close, but in the last quarter, Fieldston was able to secure the win with over an 18 point lead. The team played great, presenting a strong offense as well as a strong defense that stayed consistent for the duration of the game.

12/7 Friends Seminary (Home)

After having won the first game 68-50 against Masters December 6 in the Tip-Off Classic, Fieldston moved on to play Friends Seminary on Saturday for first place in the tournament. The game started slow, with the first half ending in a score of 32-12 for Friends. In the second half, Fieldston began to pick up the level of play and ended the third quarter with a score of 34-53. Though well-fought, the game ended with a 62-77 loss for Fieldston. Although the game resulted in a loss, Fieldston came in second place in the tournament. Congratulations to both Kameran Rodriguez and Timmy Selkridge who both received awards for notable players in the tournament.

12/9 Packer (Away)

After a well-fought game, Fieldston lost to Packer in their fourth game of the season and first away game with a score of 56-53. Throughout the majority of the game, the score was very close with Packer at a slight lead until the score evened up in the fourth quarter. Unfortunately, in the last few minutes of the quarter when the score was evened up, Packer was able to secure the win with a layup and free throw shot. Despite the loss, the team played great in this game with a strong defense and offense. The starters of this game include Kameran Rodriguez, Timmy Selkridge, Matt Millman, Justin Ben-Ari, and Ethan Ben-Ari.

12/11 Poly Prep (Home)

After unfortunately losing a close game to Packer on Monday, BVB was ready to play against Poly on Wednesday. The first quarter ended with Fieldston in the lead, however, Poly was able to bring the score back in their favor by the end of the first half. The team fought their hardest but they were not able to win the game. The game ended with a score of 35-77 Poly. Although it was a tough loss for Fieldston, we are confident that BVB has a strong season ahead of them.
